Stakeholder Pension

Stakeholder PensionCan you close a stakeholder pension and get the money you paid?

I am 29 and live in the United Kingdom and had a stakeholder pension last year. I moved jobs and the pension is now in limbo. I did not pay much in it and I was wondering if I can actually get at this price and close to the pension received as to how times are tough right now? Can anyone help?

There is nothing you can do to get the money - pension rules are such that money should stay there until you are 55 years and only 25% will be paid as a tax free lump sum (subject to the total value that you are in the pensions time).

It would be different if you had an occupational scheme and had only worked for the company for a short period of time.
