Certification Plastic Choosing who to trust to make your plastic surgery can be a difficult task. Depending on where you are, lax regulation, it may be possible that your "artist" is not a surgeon at all. Or they can be a surgeon trained in general surgery, ENT or.
Plastic surgery is one of the most competitive specialties to enter. It generally ranks in the top 3 which means that medical students go through a rigorous process for selection in these residences. (This means, in addition to getting higher grades in schools of medicine, they do research, publish a lot, and so many choices in plastic surgery.) These medical students then go through a rigorous residence where they learn everything they need to know about plastic surgery. Sometimes they pursue further training (Fellowship) in sub-specialties of plastic surgery. Ultimately, they are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (in Canada). It is the certification you wish to search. It does not guarantee perfection, but it ensures that the agency has evaluated the surgeon and determined it was a safe and competent plastic surgeon.
Beware of "false" certification. Anyone can create a society "and distribute certificates. Family physicians and other surgeons, then pay a fee to these companies that cause the return of a certificate of membership. These can be Am Soc laser surgery, liposuction or Am Soc or the International Society of Aesthetic Surgery ..... etc. They sound good, the certificates are impressive, but they do not guarantee that the surgeon has paid his dues. There is no review, no certification process in question (no, a two-week course in liposuction is not a real training experience).
In conclusion, you want Am Board of Plastic Surgery or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Plastic Surgery. If you do not know ... ask another doctor or family doctor.
