As mentioned in the question, I need an outlet for GPL'ish app that will work with a barcode reader. A bar code reader suggestions (hardware) would be the case.

It must be deployed for a mom and pop store beer hippie town ....() many weird beers come and go.

Linux and PHP related questions only. No winpoop.
Open Source applications will one day rule the world.

I do not know what to say on Debian linux. However, you can see www.intellitrack.com. One of their modules work for Mom and Pop C-Store. I can get a discount on IntelliTrack well.
