Medicare RAC audit base line - What is RAC?

CAR (s)-Recovery Audit Contract will continue to identify Medicare claims that contain non-MSP irregular payments which payment was made or should have been made under Part A or B Title XVIII of the Social Security Act.

In 2006, Article 302 of the Tax Relief and Health Care Recovery Act of verification made contractor (RAC) program permanent. The program will be implemented in 50 states and Puerto Rico 2010.
