Ireland will become the next Iran? A new law on blasphemy which has just taken place, it is illegal to curse the religion of both written and verbally.
I believe that this new legislation will make Ireland more sensitive to tyranny in what will essentially deny non-religious citizens freedom of speech.
If the United States and other free nations around the world to publicly condemn this new law, and place any sanctions against Ireland?
What are your thoughts?
Here is an article on the new law:

You need to know more about these things before jumping to conclusions. The law defines blasphemy as a subject "that is grossly offensive or insulting to the issues considered sacred by any religion, causing outrage among a large number of adherents of that religion, and he or she intends, by the publication of the matter in question, because such outrage.
Note that this does not count as blasphemy if you believe what you say actually be true, or if you have no intention of causing public outrage by saying it. In fact, nobody will ever be prosecuted under this law, because it would be impossible to prove that someone did not believe what they said, or they intended to do shit many religious people with it. That's the question - the law is useless.
The reason it was introduced is that our Constitution states that blasphemy is illegal, but there has never been a definition of blasphemy. If we wanted to change the Constitution, we would have to hold a public referendum that would cost millions of something quite minor. So instead, the government introduced the definition of blasphemy is the highest.
And you think the U.S. should intervene against a violation of freedom of expression? The United States? The country where you are not allowed to say f * ck on TV? Oh the irony.
links to Ireland for the first worldwide index of press freedom. The United States is 20.

It is time for U.S. to stop interfering in the affairs of other countries. They did in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Iran and if we go back to the past in Vietnam, etc. .. They should allow people to take care of their own business. I say if some1 is free to do, then it is Europe, because they do whatever America says to. but he did return to America (E. crisis) and this is not the end, 'cos they have learned nothing. And they could from Kennedy, Muhammad Ali and others.
It has zero effect. The law will be canceled or ignored by prosecutors. Nobody ever having to pay this fine.
I agree with the answer above. In addition, none of the U.S. should butt out for once.
