How do I set the paperwork for the rental of my property? I own a house I rented to a married couple. The man is moving, and roommate found the woman she wants to settle, which is fine with me. She asked for the names change, but the lease to remain with the same end date (approximately 9 months from now). What is the best way to correct the documents in a way that protects everyone? Write a new lease, or add an addendum to the bottom of the current noting a sublease?
The best thing to do is write a new lease with new names for the 9 months.
