As the REIT if the Fed devalues the dollar in 2009, it will be the effect on the REIT in 2009 and beyond?

The question is what kind of REITs? Resorts, retail, student housing, mixed use (an allocation of all or most sectors REIT )..... So it's not so easy to answer until you define what type. Office REIT'sS may suffer, as vacancies are declining, but they are generally supported by long-term leases. Universities are the registration record, while the sector should be recession proof .......... Again, you need to define what you are watching. PS I'm a fan of REIT'sS.
