This is exactly the kind of things that people try to steal your identity would love. I could recommend you use a personal finance software very cheap such as Microsoft Money or Quicken. If you only need basic things that you can go with their basic program that costs only $ 20. You can then spend a few weeks keeping very detailed records of your purchases, expenses and income. Once these data as a whole you are able to execute monthly reports that follows every penny you spend. I highly recommend the envelope system. Label envelopes with a group of things like clothing, car repairs, entertainment. Each paycheck, get your money in the budget for these classes and put them in envelopes. If you need to shop for clothes, leave all your cards at home and just take the envelope CLOTHING. When the money runs out, your purchase is made. If you find the amount budgeted is not enough, you can adjust your budget with the next cycle (in addition to clothing, take it away from something else). Just be careful if you take cash from other envelopes, you do not fly.
