Although South Africa is far behind the rest of the world, offering EFT as the only form of payment is not enough. In this spirit, it is important for you to know what your options are. Here is a brief overview of some companies in South Africa which offers online credit card processing. Pay Gate These guys offer a service very standard and you need a merchant account with Standard Bank. It is generally recommended that you have a programmer on your side if you choose to use this company. The last time I worked with them, their support was good, but their solutions are not as easy to implement because they could be. isc This company works by Nedbank and provides very similar to PayGate. In general, I would not recommend a company like this a small company that just started as it will take more resources than you're likely to have on hand. Setcom This company is by far my credit card processor online favorite. They have been around since 1999 but have recently launched a similar service to PayPal. In essence, they allow you to charge credit cards without a merchant account. This means you can get up and running much faster than it can take more than three months successfully applied for a merchant account in one of the major banks. Another advantage of using setcom wonderful is that they make super easy for you to add "Buy Now" for your website. In addition to this (yes, there's more!) You can register for free now and be operational within hours. No other supplier that I know of that offer. There are many solutions you can think setcom is probably your best choice as a small business. Pricetag Unlike other companies have been mentioned so far, I have not had direct experience with this company. They come highly recommended by an associate of mine. Their website looks really good so I recommend you check them before making a decision. If you're not selling online, giving you lots of money on the table. People want to buy your products now, not tomorrow. If you are not set up for e-commerce, they will simply take their business to your competitors. Posted on March 1, 2010.
