Checking Account

I had a bad history of bad checks in the past. I did not have a current account or another type of bank account for a few months now (since September of last year). I know it was something really stupid, I turned a new and I am "Starting Over" in some way.

Are there banks in Michigan that will give you a "second chance" with a checking account?

No Responses sarcastic or ignorant, or I'll report.

I can not answer about Michigan, but I can tell you that one of the facts on the "second chance" accounts. Most of these accounts have 2 things in common. They either have a very high minimum balance or substantial monthly service fees.

Some advice: If you find such an account at the financial institution to ask how long you should keep this account before you can switch to one of their accounts less. This may be a determining factor in what financial institution you opened your account.
