California Trust What is the position of a co-trustee of a trust in California? I am co-trustee of a trust suviorship, the recent decision were made about beneficary without my knowledge or consent. A lawyer who is administering the trust said that co-trustee's consent is not necessary and a co-trustee is strictly administrative, establishment of accounts, etc. If the owner of the trust is still alive you have no voice, they can make all the changes they want until they die. After the position of co-trustee will be defined in the indenture. There is no legal document that says the public work of co-trustee is XYZ. It is stated in the deed of trust (which is a private legal document). I do not know Posted on January 22, 2010.
