What new cars (automatic transmission) gives the best gas mileage? I will start a new job that requires more travel and try to get a new car with good gas mileage of 99 cars to replace my Saturn. All wheel drive and some luxury features would be nice, but ultimately the consumption of gasoline will be critical. What are the cars most recent (less than $ 40K) from a consumer point of view of gas?
As the lady said before, the Civic is a great car. I wanted to save a little money and bought a Chevy Cobalt (since I'm old school and like to try and keep money here in the States) I get a real 27 city and 33 highway. For the same features in a Honda that was $ 3,500 more. It also has tons of power ....... 148hp

I just got a new Honda Fit is great mileage EEG (28-35) and has a ton of room inside for the transportation orders if I must, in addition was a good price too!
